Service and Booking Policy

What to know before a MALKI service begins.

This policy explains the shared expectations that apply to MALKI styling and shopping services. Your signed service agreement will contain the specific scope, timing, and payment terms for your request.

This policy explains the shared expectations that apply to MALKI styling, shopping, and closet services. Your signed service agreement or service order will state the scope, dates, fees, and payment timing for your request. If that signed document conflicts with this policy, the signed document controls for that service.

In this policy, “MALKI,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to [full legal business name]. “Client,” “you,” and “your” refer to the person who submits or purchases the service. When a service is arranged for a person under 18, the parent or legal guardian is the contracting client and remains responsible under this policy.

1

A request is not a booking

Submitting a form begins MALKI’s review. It does not reserve a date, confirm availability, or require MALKI to accept the request.

MALKI may ask for clarification, recommend a different service, propose a revised scope, place the request on a waitlist, or decline it. A service is confirmed only after:

  • MALKI accepts the request and confirms the service and scope;
  • you complete the required agreement or service order;
  • MALKI receives the required service payment; and
  • MALKI receives any client shopping funds that must be available before purchasing begins.

Do not make non-refundable personal, travel, venue, or event arrangements in reliance on a request that MALKI has not confirmed in writing.

2

Introductory prices and scope

The prices shown on the MALKI website are introductory rates for the current service experience. They may change for future requests. Once your service is confirmed, the agreed service fee applies to that engagement unless you approve a change in scope. Current introductory starting points are:

ServiceIntroductory feeCore scope
Shopping LiteFrom $75A focused pickup or acquisition request when you already know what you need; the $75 base covers up to three agreed items
Curated Shopping$180Five selection slots for one focused shopping goal
Curated Shopping$290Eight selection slots for one focused shopping goal
Personal Styling$300One complete look with the support stated in the agreement
Personal Styling$400Up to two complete looks with the support stated in the agreement
Closet EditFrom $500A wardrobe review, reset, and shopping direction within the agreed scope

For Shopping Lite, a fourth item is currently $10 and a fifth item is $10, with a maximum of five items per request. One additional nearby store may be added for $25 when MALKI confirms that the store and timing are workable; the additional store must be no more than approximately 15 minutes from the first, and the service is limited to two stores total.

The accepted agreement or service order states the final fee and controls if a public summary differs. Any expanded item count, look count, session, store, location, travel, timing, delivery, return support, or other change may require a new fee and schedule. MALKI will present the change for approval before adding it.

3

What the service fee does not include

Unless expressly included in writing, the service fee does not include:

  • clothing, shoes, accessories, or other merchandise;
  • sales tax, shipping, duties, or retailer fees;
  • travel, mileage, tolls, parking, transit, courier, or delivery costs;
  • alteration, tailoring, repair, cleaning, storage, or venue costs;
  • return or exchange handling;
  • expedited work;
  • additional stores, items, looks, sessions, fittings, or day-of hours; or
  • third-party event, ticket, or registration fees.

These costs will not be added without being disclosed and approved, except for a minor unavoidable difference already authorized within an agreed spending limit.

4

Payment

Shopping Lite

After MALKI accepts the request and you complete the agreement or service order, the full Shopping Lite service fee is due before work begins.

Curated Shopping, Personal Styling, and Closet Edit

A 70% deposit confirms the service and allows MALKI to begin. The remaining 30% is due at the point stated in your agreement and must be paid before final materials are released or the service is completed.

General payment terms

Payments are processed through Stripe or another approved payment method. You are responsible for accurate billing information and any bank or card charges imposed by your provider.

If a payment fails or becomes overdue, MALKI may pause work, withhold unreleased materials, release the date, or end the service after reasonable notice. A pause may affect timing and does not require MALKI to preserve an original deadline.

Except as stated in this policy, the signed agreement, or applicable law, fees for work already performed and costs already committed are earned and non-refundable.

5

Client shopping funds and purchase approval

Client shopping funds are separate from MALKI’s service fee. MALKI does not finance, advance, or extend credit for client purchases.

Before MALKI buys an item on your behalf, you must provide the required funds and approve the purchase or an agreed spending range. MALKI will purchase only items within the accepted scope and authorization, subject to real-time price, inventory, retailer limits, tax, shipping, and availability.

MALKI will maintain receipts or a purchase record and reconcile client shopping funds after the relevant purchasing activity. Any unused balance or retailer refund received by MALKI will be returned after reconciliation, generally within 10 business days, although banks and payment providers may require additional processing time.

MALKI is not responsible for an item becoming unavailable, increasing in price, or missing a deadline before the required funds and approval are received.

6

Client responsibilities

You agree to:

  • provide accurate dates, measurements, sizing, budget, contact, location, retailer, delivery, and accessibility information;
  • disclose deadlines and immovable event dates before booking;
  • respond to questions, approvals, and selection windows within the time stated;
  • review documents, options, retailer terms, and purchase details carefully;
  • keep your MALKI Tracker link private;
  • provide a safe, lawful, sanitary, and reasonably accessible environment for any in-person session;
  • disclose pets, stairs, building rules, mobility needs, allergies, hazards, or access limits that could affect the service; and
  • be available for confirmed appointments, handoffs, fittings, and required decisions.

MALKI may adjust timing or scope when client information, approval, access, materials, or payment is delayed. A missed client deadline may reduce available options, require an additional fee, or make the original completion date impossible.

Services for clients under 18

Clients ages 16–17 may be considered for a MALKI styling or shopping service with the active involvement of a parent or legal guardian. A request for a client under 16 must be started by a parent or legal guardian and is reviewed individually. MALKI may decline a request when the service, circumstances, or available supervision are not an appropriate fit.

For any client under 18, the parent or guardian must:

  • submit or expressly approve the service request;
  • sign the agreement or service order;
  • make or authorize all payments and purchases;
  • receive or be included in material service communications;
  • approve service decisions and the sharing of the minor’s measurements, photographs, preferences, or other personal information; and
  • remain responsible for appointments, purchases, conduct, and compliance with this policy.

The minor cannot independently complete payment, provide shopping funds, sign the agreement, or approve final items. The parent or guardian must attend consultations, fittings, closet sessions, shopping appointments, and other in-person services involving the minor unless MALKI agrees to a different arrangement in writing. MALKI may decline or pause a minor’s service if appropriate guardian consent, participation, or supervision is not available.

MALKI Socials are adults-only unless a specific event page expressly states otherwise. An event may also set a higher minimum age.

7

Scheduling, lateness, rescheduling, cancellation, and refunds

Shopping Lite

One reschedule may be requested with at least 48 hours’ notice only if MALKI has not yet confirmed the pickup, begun retailer coordination, traveled, purchased an item, or incurred an expense.

Once MALKI has begun substantive work or committed time or costs, the related portion of the fee and committed costs are earned and non-refundable. If a pickup cannot be completed because the information was incorrect, the retailer refuses release, the order is not ready, identification or authorization is missing, or the client is unavailable for the agreed handoff, a new run and additional fee may be required.

Curated Shopping, Personal Styling, and Closet Edit

  • More than 72 hours before the appointment: one complimentary reschedule may be requested. The replacement date must generally occur within 60 days and remains subject to availability.
  • Within 72 hours of the appointment: one late reschedule may be requested within 60 days, subject to availability and a fee equal to 20% of the total service fee. This late-rescheduling fee applies only to requests made within 72 hours of the appointment; it does not apply four, five, or six days before the appointment.
  • After substantive work has begun or for a no-show: the rescheduling fee does not replace payment for work already performed or costs already committed. MALKI may require a new booking and payment to continue.

Late arrival does not automatically extend an appointment. If you are more than 30 minutes late without communication, MALKI may treat the appointment as a no-show.

MALKI may consider a documented emergency as an exception, but any exception is discretionary and does not change the policy for future bookings.

Service-fee refunds by service

The following rules apply when you cancel or end a confirmed service. The 20% late-rescheduling fee is separate from any amount earned for work already performed. Approved nonrecoverable expenses and other committed third-party costs remain your responsibility. Any eligible refund is calculated after MALKI reconciles the service fee, completed work, approved costs, and client shopping funds.

Shopping Lite

  • If you cancel before MALKI has confirmed the pickup, begun coordination, traveled, purchased an item, or incurred an approved expense, the unearned service fee will be returned.
  • Once work or an authorized expense begins, the amount attributable to completed work and committed costs is earned and non-refundable. A new request may require a new service fee.
  • Unspent client shopping funds are returned in full after reconciliation. A retailer refund is returned only after it clears to MALKI and the transaction is reconciled.

Curated Shopping

  • If you end the service after substantive work has begun but before the final deck or approved shopping list is released, MALKI retains 35% of the total service fee for the work completed. Any remaining eligible service-fee amount is returned after reconciliation.
  • Once the final deck or approved shopping list has been released, the completed service fee is non-refundable.
  • Unused client shopping funds and cleared retailer refunds are returned after reconciliation.

Personal Styling

  • Work completed before cancellation is non-refundable. This may include the consultation, creative direction, lookbook development, sourcing, shopping materials, fitting preparation, fitting, final-look work, or day-of preparation already performed.
  • Any unearned service-fee balance is returned after reconciliation. Once the agreed service and final materials have been completed or released, the service fee is non-refundable.
  • Unused client shopping funds and cleared retailer refunds are returned after reconciliation.

Closet Edit

  • If you decline the service at the early Edit Brief stage, after the brief has been prepared and released but before you accept it and proceed, MALKI retains 35% of the total service fee for the work completed. Any remaining eligible service-fee amount is returned after reconciliation.
  • If you end the service after accepting the Edit Brief but before the final Closet Update or Restock Shopping Deck is released, completed work and approved nonrecoverable costs are non-refundable; any unearned service-fee balance is returned after reconciliation.
  • Once the final Closet Update or Restock Shopping Deck has been released, no service-fee refund is available.
  • Unused client shopping funds and cleared retailer refunds are returned after reconciliation.

If MALKI cancels

If MALKI must cancel, you may choose a reasonable reschedule or a refund of the unearned service fee. MALKI is not responsible for separate travel, venue, merchandise, or third-party costs you incur unless required by law or expressly agreed in writing.

8

Shopping Lite boundaries

Shopping Lite is focused shopping support, not a styling consultation or open-ended sourcing service.

The request must identify the item, item type, retailer, or straightforward task clearly enough for MALKI to assess it. The service can include up to five agreed items and no more than two eligible stores under the current pricing structure. It does not include a fitting, a complete look, broad comparison shopping, a curated deck, or full styling direction.

Most accepted Shopping Lite requests are planned within 24 to 72 hours, depending on availability, retailer rules, location, and delivery needs. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. MALKI confirms the workable timing before the service begins.

Retailers may require the purchaser’s name, original payment card, order confirmation, government-issued identification, or advance designation of the pickup person. MALKI cannot override a retailer’s policy. You must share the retailer and order details before paying so MALKI can confirm whether the task appears possible.

9

Curated Shopping boundaries

Curated Shopping is a focused edit for one agreed shopping goal. It currently includes a 40-to-45-minute alignment conversation and a digital deck with five or eight selection slots, depending on the option purchased.

Selection slots are spaces in the edit, not a guarantee that every item will remain available or that every slot will result in a purchase. MALKI may include relevant notes about fit, texture, styling potential, versatility, price, or returns based on available information.

Unless the agreement states otherwise, you have 48 hours after the deck is released to identify preferred options or request the refinement included in the scope. Delay may affect price, availability, and completion. Curated Shopping does not include a complete styled look, a closet review, or day-of dressing.

10

Personal Styling boundaries

Personal Styling supports one complete look or up to two complete looks, according to the option confirmed in your agreement. The service may include an alignment conversation, creative direction, sourcing, organized options, one refinement round, an agreed fitting path, and day-of dressing support within the confirmed scope.

A fitting occurs after the intended pieces are available and before the day they will be worn, when a fitting is included. If you purchase all pieces yourself, the fitting is virtual unless the agreement states otherwise. If MALKI purchases the pieces, the fitting may be virtual or in person at the format and location confirmed by MALKI.

MALKI will make reasonable corrective sourcing efforts within the agreed scope when a selected item does not work. Additional looks, repeated changes in direction, new occasions, replacement items outside the original budget, extra fittings, extended day-of support, travel, or urgent work may require a new fee and schedule.

11

Closet Edit boundaries

Closet Edit begins with the wardrobe, goals, and spaces included in the accepted scope. It may include keep, release, repair, restyle, and gap decisions; outfit possibilities; between-session tasks; and a final shopping direction.

The starting price assumes the scope, location, wardrobe volume, session length, and follow-up stated in the agreement. Additional rooms, wardrobes, people, categories, hours, disposal, consignment, donation transport, organization supplies, or shopping are not included unless written into the agreement.

MALKI may recommend release, repair, alteration, donation, consignment, or disposal, but you make the final decision and remain responsible for valuables and personal items.

12

Retailers, fit, quality, and availability

Retailer inventory, prices, shipping estimates, pickup rules, authenticity practices, return windows, and product information can change without notice. MALKI is not the manufacturer or seller of third-party merchandise and does not control retailer or carrier performance.

MALKI may make observations based on product information, experience, photographs, or a fitting, but cannot guarantee fit, comfort, durability, color accuracy, authenticity, availability, or performance. You are responsible for reviewing labels, care instructions, materials, health or allergy concerns, and final suitability before use.

13

Returns, exchanges, and refunds for merchandise

Retailer return and exchange rules control merchandise purchases. Some items may be final sale, time-limited, store-credit only, or subject to restocking, shipping, or handling fees.

Unless return support is expressly included, you are responsible for returns and exchanges. Do not send or leave an item with MALKI for return without written confirmation. If MALKI agrees to handle a return, you remain responsible for retailer deadlines, original packaging and tags, product condition, shipping, courier, travel, and retailer fees.

MALKI does not guarantee that a retailer will accept a return or issue a refund. A retailer refund is not a refund of MALKI’s completed service fee. If a retailer refund is issued to MALKI for an item purchased with client funds, MALKI will return it after receipt and reconciliation.

14

Delivery, handoff, and access

Delivery or courier service is included only when stated in writing. Otherwise, the handoff method and any related cost will be confirmed separately.

You are responsible for providing an accurate address, safe access, building instructions, and an available recipient. Risk of loss transfers to you when an item is handed to you, your authorized recipient, or the agreed carrier, except where law requires otherwise.

Inspect items at handoff when practical. Report an obvious handoff or delivery issue within 24 hours, with photographs and relevant details, so MALKI can review what occurred. This notice period does not reduce any non-waivable legal right.

15

Travel and in-person services

Travel, mileage, tolls, parking, transit, courier, and related costs are separate unless included in the agreement. MALKI may decline or stop an in-person service if a location is unsafe, unlawful, unsanitary, materially different from what was disclosed, or inaccessible for the agreed work.

If an in-person service must stop because of an undisclosed condition, the portion already performed and costs already committed remain payable. A new visit may require a new fee.

16

Service completion

A service is complete when the work described in the accepted scope has been delivered, including:

  • Shopping Lite: agreed pickup, acquisition, handoff or delivery activity, plus purchase-fund reconciliation where applicable;
  • Curated Shopping: release of the final deck or list, or completion of the agreed purchase support;
  • Personal Styling: confirmation of the final look or looks after the included fitting or corrective sourcing, plus the agreed day-of support and deliverables; and
  • Closet Edit: completion of the agreed session or sessions and release of the included follow-up materials.

Retailer returns, delayed refunds, tailoring, delivery claims, or other third-party processes may continue after MALKI’s service is complete unless the agreement expressly includes that follow-through.

17

Client materials, privacy, and media

MALKI uses client information and materials to review, administer, and deliver the service, maintain appropriate business records, and protect the parties. MALKI’s Privacy Policy provides additional detail.

MALKI will not publicly use your name, image, story, testimonial, service photographs, or private deliverables without separate permission. A media release is optional and is not a condition of receiving a service.

MALKI retains ownership of its original templates, deck design, written frameworks, and presentation methods. You may use released deliverables for your personal, non-commercial use and may share individual links or references as reasonably needed to purchase or use the recommended items.

18

Subjective outcomes and third parties

Style and taste are personal. MALKI does not guarantee that another person will respond in a particular way, that an item will remain available, or that a styling choice will produce a personal, social, professional, or financial result.

MALKI is not responsible for a retailer, courier, tailor, venue, payment processor, or other third party’s acts, omissions, policies, delays, closures, product defects, or service failures, except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.

19

Events outside reasonable control

Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, transit interruption, government action, venue closure, widespread technology or payment outage, labor disruption, illness, emergency, or supply interruption. The parties will make a reasonable effort to communicate and determine whether to reschedule, revise the scope, or close the service. Earned fees and non-refundable committed costs remain payable.

20

Questions and policy updates

MALKI may update this policy for future services. The version accepted with your confirmed booking governs that service unless both parties agree to a change in writing.
